22nd Generation: Robert Bourchier

• Robert was born in 1310 in Halstead, Essex, England.
• He married Margaret Prayers before 1329. They had two sons: John and William.
• Robert was the 1st Baron of Bourchier, Lord Chancellor of England. He was the first layman to hold this post. Robert initially worked for the de Vere family, but later worked for the Crown. He served on a diplomatic mission to France in 1327. He later served in Parliament. Robert was involved in the Invasion of Scotland in 1335 and at the Battle of Cadsand in 1337.
• Robert died on August 20, 1349 (39 years old) in Bordeaux, France. He was on a diplomatic mission when he contracted the Black Death. He is buried at Halstead.

• Margaret was born in 1309 in Sible Hedingham, England.
• She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Prayers.
• She married Robert before 1329. They had two sons:

• Margaret died in 1400 (91 years old) in Halstead, Essex, England.
