21st Generation: Sir Edmund Thorpe

• Edmund was born in 1343 at Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk, England.
• He married Joan Northwood on March 3, 1388. They had two children together: Isabel and Joan.
• Edmund served in the Navy. He was elected to Parliament in 1397. He was summoned to the Great Council of 1401.
• Edmund died in June of 1418 (75 years old) during a siege. He died in Louviers, Normandy, France. He is buried at Ashwellthorpe Church with his wife in their chapel.

• Joan was born in 1368 at Shalford Manor in Essex, England.
• Joan was the daughter of John Northwood, 3rd Baron of Northwood, and Joan Hart.
• Joan married Edmund on March 3, 1388. They had two children together:
  • Isabel (who we are descended from) (1403-1436)
  • Joan (1404-?) Married John Clifton
• Joan was the widow of Lord Roger Scales. She was Edmund’s second wife.
• Joan died in January of 1415 (47 years old) in Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk, England.
