7th Generation: John A. Burget

  • John was born on December 28, 1801, in Harpersfield, New York.
  • He married Lucy M. Hoskins on December 28, 1826, in Ashtabula, Ohio. They had seven children together: Henry, William, Dama, John, Harriett, Ira, and David.
  • John died on April 13, 1858 (57 years old) in Livingstone, Missouri. He and his family resided in Ashtabula, Ohio, before moving to Missouri.

7th Generation: Lucy M. Hoskins

  • Lucy was born on August 31, 1807, in Simsbury, Connecticut.
  • Lucy married John on December 28, 1826, in Ashtabula, Ohio. They had seven children together:
    • Henry Burgett (1830-1890 in California) He was the first settler on Butte Slough in 1856.
    • William Milbury Burgett (1832-1910 in California)
    • Dama Abia Singletary (1834-1901 in Oklahoma) She married Ithamer Singletary which means we are also descended from Dama. More on Ithamer later.
    • John Hoskins Burget (who we are descended from on this line) (1836-1872)
    • Harriett Maryetta Burgett (1837-1899 in California)
    • Ira Allvinza Burgett (1839-1910 in Washington)
    • David D. Burgett (1843-1863) Enlisted in the Ohio Regiment. He was killed at the Battle of Gettysburg.
  • Lucy died on June 26, 1852, (45 years old) in Utica, Missouri.
