*12th Generation: Richard Seager

• Richard was born in 1595 in Braintree, Essex, England.
• He married Elizabeth Moody in 1649 in Hartford, Connecticut. They had five children together: Elizabeth, Ebenezer, Richard, John, and Joseph.
• Elizabeth was Richard’s second or third wife. He was part of Rev. Thomas Hooker’s immigration to Massachusetts in 1636.
• Richard died in 1682 (87 years old) in Newport, Rhode Island.

*12th Generation: Elizabeth Moody

• Elizabeth was born in 1628 in Suffolk, England.
• She married Richard in 1649 in Hartford, Connecticut. She was his second or third wife. They had five children together:
  • Elizabeth (1650-?)
  • Ebenezer (1653-?)
  • Richard (1654-1698)
  • John (1655-1737)
  • Joseph (who we are descended from) (1656-1740)
• Elizabeth was tried three times for witchcraft. She was found with others dancing and drinking under a tree in 1662. She was imprisoned for a year. After her release, the family moved to Newport, Rhode Island.
• Elizabeth died in 1666 (38 years old) in Newport, Rhode Island.
