24th Generation: Edmund FitzAlan

• Edmund was born on May 1, 1285, at Marlborough Castle, Wiltshire.
• He married Alice de Warenne in 1305, and they had eight children together: Richard, Edmund, Michael, Mary, Aline, Katherine, Eleanor, and Elizabeth.
• Edmund was the 9th Earl of Arundel. He was a prominent player in the conflict between Edward II and his Barons.
• He was a ward of John de Warenne who married him to his granddaughter. He initially fought against Edward II, but later reconciled since the King’s favorite was Hugh Despenser, whose daughter married his son.
• Edmund died on November 17, 1326, (41 years old) in Hereford, England. After King Edward’s death, Queen Isabella had him captured and executed. He is buried at Haughmond Abbey in Shropshire.
