• Maurice was born in Ireland.

• Maurice was the 1st Earl of Desmond. He served as Lord Justice of Ireland. He was the Captain of Desmond Casatle. He was created Earl on August 27, 1329.
• Maurice fought the Irish Rebels in 1630 in Munster and Leinster. He routed the O’Nolan, O’Murrough, and O’Dempsies Clans.
• Maurice was imprisoned by the King for 18 months because the King feared treason.
• In 1339 he won a major battle against the rebels in Kerry.
• Maurice died on January 25, 1356. He is buried in the Church of the Friars in Tralee County, Kerry, Ireland.
