- John owned and operated a cotton gin in Dye Mound, Texas.
- John died on February 16, 1957, (82 years old) in Marlow, Oklahoma. He is buried at Marlow Cemetery.
- Lula was born on April 3, 1881, in Montague County, Texas.
- She married John on August 19, 1895, in Montague County Texas. They had six children together:
- Homer James (1896-1970) (74 years old) Died in Muenster, Texas
- Winnie Ellen Cook (1902-1980) (78 years old) Died in Tulia, Texas
- Ruby Bell (who we are descended from) (1905-1994) (89 years old) Died in San Antonio, Texas

- Mable Bernice McDaniel (1918-1968) (50 years old) Died in Marlow, Oklahoma
- Lula died on October 19, 1922 (41 years old) in Marlow, Oklahoma. She died of diptheria. Lula is buried in the Marlow Cemetery.
