- He married Anna Moore, and they had one child together, Dorothy.
- James immigrated to Massachusetts. He owned 90 acres in Billerica. He was a constable and selectman. He served in the militia as an ensign. His house was used a garrison in King Phillips War.
- He died on April 16, 1676, (50 years old)in Billerica, Massachusetts after Indians attacked his house. He died from his wounds he received in the attack.

- Anna was born in 1630 in Maldon, Essex, England.
- She arrived with her father and mother in Massachusetts in 1639.
- Anna married Ensign, and they had one child together:
- Dorothy (who we are descended from) (1651-1724) (73 years old)
- Anna died in 1691 (61 years old) in Billerica, Massachusetts.
