28th Generation: William De Montacute
- William was born in 1140 at Shepton, Montagu, Somerset, England.
- He married a lady named Isabel, and they had one son:
- William (who we are descended from) (1170-1247)
- William became a Baron in 1196. He paid monies towards the ransom for King Richard in that same year. He was Sheriff of Dorsetshire and Somersetshire between 1205 and 1209. He along with other Barons rebelled against King John and was stripped of all his lands in Somerset and Dorset. His son eventually recovered all his lands.
- William died in 1218 at Shepton Montagu Somerset, England.
