5th Generation: Ithamer Savery Singletary

• Ithamer was born on October 14, 1830, in Bladen County, North Carolina. He moved with his family to Alabama.
• He first married Sarah Elizabeth Matheney (who was born in 1838 in Alabama) on December 4, 1852, in Freestone, Texas. They had two children together:
  • Josephine Poyner (1853-1927) She was captured by Native Americans as a child, but was found by a detective at age 11 and brought home.
  • Perlina White (1856-?)
• Sarah died in 1857 in Montague County, Texas (19 years old)
• Ithamer then married Dama Abia Burgett on April 6, 1858, in Montague County, Texas. They had five children together: Margaret, Elvira, Malinda (who we are descended from), Lucinda, and Sarah.
• Ithamer had been a foreman on a plantation in Florida. He later drove an ox wagon hauling freight between Galveston and Houston. He and his dad built the first house in Saint Jo, Texas. He received one of the first land grants in Montague County, Texas.
• He died on September 19, 1898, in Montague County, Texas (68 years old)

5th Generation: Dama Abia Burgett

• Dama was born January 15, 1834, in Ashtabula, Ohio.
• She married Ithamer on April 6, 1858, in Montague County, Texas. They had five children together:
  • Margaret (Maggie) White (1861-1894) (33 years old)
  • Elvira Matilda King (1865-1922) (57 years old)
  • Malinda Irene (who we are descended from) (1869-1971) (102 years old) twin to Lucinda
  • Lucinda Dulcena Lopez (1869-1956) (87 years old)
  • Sarah (Sally) Salina Vann (1871-1943) (72 years old)
• Dama died on January 30, 1901 (67 years old) in Fox, Oklahoma.
