22nd Generation: Sir Guy de Brienne
- Sir Guy was born in 1311 at Walwyns Castle in Wales.
- First wife was Joan Carew, daughter of Sir John Carew of Carew Castle.
- Second wife was Lady Elizabeth de Montagu, the daughter of William Montague, 1st Earl of Salisbury.
- Guy and Elizabeth had 5 children together: William (who we are descended from), Margaret, Phillip, Elizabeth, and Guy.
- Sir Guy was a knight of Edward III. He was elected to the Order of the Garter. Served under Richard III against the French and bore the King’s Standard in the Battle of Calais. Sir Guy was an ambassador to Pope Innocent VI in 1361. He was also the Admiral of the King’s Fleet in 1361. He was called the 1st Baron of Bryan.
